Central to Swansea, Exposure Gallery is surrounded by shops, museums & other attractions. Exposure was a gallery set up by The Swansea Guild of Artists Ltd. during 2003 & has been of great benefit & service to the local arts community. If you are looking for an unusual gift, the gallery shop has many creations by local artists & designer/makers. There are ceramic works by Audrey Vincent, & Bryani Rich on display alongside the fashion accessories & textile work of Kara Smith. There is also contemporary jewellery by Laura Bishop, Rhiannon Morgan, & a range of prints by many artists including Tim Swain, & Rhian Jarman. At the gallery you will also find cards & other desirable items available from a whole range of talented folk!

Shows at the gallery change regularly, with a diverse range of talent passing through the space, exhibitions such as Bruce Risdon’s ‘retrospective’ of paintings, Terry Scales Photomontages and illuminaria in ‘Illuminated Life", Nothing to Write Home About by Dan Staveley & Maria Daniels were all well received. More recently ‘Fact’ by Wakelin Award winner David Garner was a provocative & controversial exhibition, causing quite a stir as it confronted the issues of the Palestinian suicide bombers, whilst the unique photography by Andrea Liggins in ‘Uncertain Terrain’, was a great success.

The gallery also aims to provide exposure for up and coming artists, & regularly has open exhibitions & competitions, such as New Art & Design where the winner is rewarded with their own solo show, Interactive Drawing where visitors to the gallery were also encouraged to make their mark, & the Isle of Art a show, open to the whole of the British Isles. The Swansea Guild of Artists value the importance of art as an aid to education & building community spirit, they provide a welcoming space for community arts events. Past shows such as Dragon Arts Exhibitions, have proved popular with their mixed media approach whilst Green Art& Waste on the Catwalk proved to be very informative highlighting the importance of environmental awareness. There is also the opportunity for individuals & organisations to become members of Exposure, allowing further opportunities & support such as the chance to exhibit in our annual Members Exhibition. Exposure has & will continue to support both community & contemporary art in Wales.
