Teak Garden Furniture from Alfresco

Teak is traditionally associated with expense, however Alfresco combine style, comfort and quality at an affordable price.

The timber for our teak furniture is sourced from West Africa and the East Indies where it is also manufactured under Alfresco supervision to ensure consistent high quality. Teak is exceptionally durable, containing a high proportion of natural oils which ensure a silky smooth finish, good looks and if properly maintained it will last for generations.

Teak is ideally suited to endure the extremes of a European climate. Left untreated it will naturally turn a soft, silvery grey and should be cleaned with soapy water. Alternatively it may be treated to enhance and help protect and preserve the look of the wood, this will not eliminate splits and end-grain cracks but will keep them to a minimum.

As part of the weathering process cracks and splits will appear inthe wood within a few weeks, as with other close grain hard woods this is the normal behavior of the wood as natural oils and minerals in the wood evaporate when exposed to the elements. Our furniture is designed with this in mind and its strength and durability remain unaffected. With changing weather conditions cracks will appear and disappear, and the dryer it is the more cracks will appear.
